Victor, the Merchant

Was upon a time, an old man called Victor, he used to be a famous merchant, he bought all kind of items, but sometimes he stole them, most of them were made of gold or silver. Victor covered an underground cave with all his treasures. Few days later he left his home and he moved to the cave.

Few people knew where it was located, Victor was very miserly and he just shared his secret with the mercenaries who he had hired to bring him new treasures. The Victor’s cave was located in a volcano which was in a small lost island in the middle of the Pacific. The entrance was very small, but he had a secret door, when he needed to put inside bigger things, he opened this door. Inside the cave had three ways and three rooms, they were very hot. By the left way it was the Victor’s room, inside there were four oil lamps, they were hanging in the ceiling, they lighted every side of the room, he didn’t used a bed, he slept in a lot of feather pillows, the walls of the room were decorated by a lot of artworks, at the end of the room he had swords and shields from many different countries. By the right way there was an underground lake, its water was boiling, at the middle of the lake was a stone platform and on this there was a giant statue of Victor, a part of his treasure was here, a part was under the water, and another part was by the wall. And finally the center room had the most important thing here was the most part of his treasure. Victor loved his home, he liked a lot live there. But Victor wasn’t a stupid man, he had a guard, it was a powerful manticore, he loved it. The manticore was very smart, it also can say some words, the mission of this animal was protect the treasure from the thieves.

One day, a lot of thieves came into the cave, but all of them were killed by the manticore, Victor knew no one can defeat it. The animal got his food from the people who want to steal some treasure.

Victor needed to get a special item, for that he called to a famous mercenary called Johan, he had to get a special shield from a boat, it was very easy. Victor waited patiently until Johan arrived. He brought the shield, but he didn’t give it to Victor. He was very angry, for that he freed the manticore. Johan fought hardly against this monster, finally, he won and the manticore was killed.

-You’re next- Johan said.

-It is treason- Victor said while he was running away.

-You can’t hide!-Johan said.

Later, Johan caught Victor and he killed him. It was the end of the Victor story. By his own greed he was killed, his own mercenary did that, and actually all Victor’s treasures are hiding in that secret place, only God know when someone will find them.
